Dr Murphy was one of the first to introduce the Six Month Smiles to Glasgow, offering patients a fantastic system of near invisible dental braces. This weekend he attended a refresher course to stay up-to-date with latest Six Month Smiles developments.
Our Six Month Smiles conference went well with opportunities to hone techniques for fitting their invisible braces with hands-on workshops.
It seems like an eternity since my colleague and I left Dr Ryan Swain, (founding father of Six Month Smiles) in Birmingham.
That was one of the first clear braces events to be organised this side of the Atlantic. Dr Swain congratulated Allan and I on becoming the first Scottish exponents of Six Month Smiles.
It was with more than a little satisfaction that I became the first Dental Surgeon north of the border to place 6 Month Smiles, beating Allan by only a few hours!
That was over five years ago now. Several hundred cases later, it is reassuring to find that little of our learned techniques have changed.
It was also a good opportunity to catch up with old friends.
