We have posted another invisible braces video in the Six Month Smiles braces section. This features Rebecca having her regular check up from Dr Murphy.
Her cosmetic braces treatment is going well, her teeth are moving into place nicely and in the video, Dr Murphy can be seen replacing the old elastic bands for new ones.
This helps to maintain the tension in the braces and keep the straightening treatment on track.
Better than Six Months
As the rate things are going, Rebecca can expect to be free of her clear braces within five months. Maybe sooner.
This not all that that surprising. Patients who have Six Month Smile treatment are often delighted to find their treatment is less the the advertised six months.
Occasionally a patient’s treatment can be as short as four months, though we are not out to break any records here. The important thing is still to do it properly.
Of course once the braces come off, it’s also vitally important to follow your advice from the hygienist as well as adhere to the plan regarding your retainer.
To many patients come to us having given up on a retainer from another dentist earlier in their lives and unsurprisingly their teeth have slipped back at leat partly to the way they were when they first sought treatment.
Clearly a Success
Rebecca has been amazed about how discrete her braces are. That is one great advantage of Six Month Smiles treatment. She has often been out with friends in Glasgow and they have totally failed to realise Rebecca is wearing braces.
They haven’t caused her daily pain nor have they particularly affected her speech.
Of course, occasionally Rebecca herself also forgets about her Six Month Smiles. That is when she gets a reminder from Dr Murphy about how to look after her braces properly.
